A research team from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) used 3D building data, building age maps, usage types, and other data to model the heating energy demand for all buildings in Berlin. To do this, they trained a neural network to predict energy consumption, estimating the energy efficiency of all buildings in Berlin – even where no consumption data is available.
